N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Lions Club has accepted the 2013 Volunteer Organization of the Year Trees Award.
The Trees Bowl and Awards Ceremony was held in Fargo on October 5th. State wide nominations were received and award winners were recognized by the North Dakota Forest Service and North Dakota State University.
The Jamestown Lions Club is responsible for the “Northeast Living Snow Fence”, consisting of five rows of trees designed to prevent snow from blocking 19th Street Northeast in Jamestown. The club has also donated equipment and labor for maintenance of the trees for the first year.
Awards were given by NDSU President Dean Bresciani and State Forester Larry Kotchman.
