N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The estimated total damage to transformers and power poles is now up to nearly ,000 stemming from a September 28 crash after the driver of a pickup struck power poles in Wimbledon.
Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin says 18-year-old Jacoby Kramlich of Courtney, North Dakota was charges with failure to give immediate notice of an accident and care required. Kramlich is accused of striking the power poles and fleeing the scene of the crash.
McClaflin says the vehicle was located and impounded northeast of Wimbledon shortly after the crash on September 28.
The crash caused a complete power outage for the city of Wimbledon that lasted for about 90 minutes.
