CITY,N .D. (NewsDakota.com) Most recreational facilities operated by the Valley City Parks & Recreation department are now smoke-free with the exception of Bjornson Park public golf course and Tourist park campground. Director Tyler Jacobson says the board wanted to create an environment to protect the health of our youth.
Jacobson says the tobacco-free decision was based on a number of factors including those discarded cigarette butts.
Representatives of City-County Health, Valley City High School’s Peer group and Barnes on the Move urged the board to adopt the tobacco-free policy.
