(NewsDakota.com) Here are the volleyball, football and cross country results for Carrington sports from October 10th through the 14th.
VARSITY FOOTBALL, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11th @ HILLSBORO
No. 4 Carrington lead 16-12 at halftime, but was held scoreless in the second half as Hillsboro/Central Valley upset the Cardinals 18-16 in Region 1 Class 1A football action last Friday night. Carrington drops to 5-1 and 6-1 overall, Hillsboro/CV improves to 3-3 and 4-3 overall.
Carrington will make the playoffs but will have to win at Oakes this Saturday to be the number one seed out of Region 1 and host a playoff game. If they lose, they will be at worst the number three seed and will have to travel to a Region 2 teams field.
Next up for Carrington, their last regular season game, will be this Saturday, October 19th in Oakes. Pregame can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK in Carrington and AM 1220 KDDR in Oakes and newsdakota.com at 1:00pm, kickoff at 1:30pm.
VOLLEYBALL
The Cardinal Volleyball team hosted Benson County on Thursday, October 10th. The Cards swept the Wildcats 3-0 (25-10, 25-23, 26-24). Carrington improved to 4-1 and 17-5 overall, BC dropped to 0-4 and 9-11 overall.
Madison Wendel had a match high 19 kills and seven serving aces. Page Anderson and Kayla Hochhalter had five digs each.
