CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Valley City commission unanimously approved of using up to ,000 through a Convention and Visitors Committee fund to make improvements to the North Dakota Winter Show Events Center.

Visitors Committee Chairman Bobby Koepplin says the part of the money will replace roof truses damaged by heavy snow in the winter of 2011. The rest of the money will be used to expanding horse stalls to help bring more events to the NDWS Event Center.

Koepplin says the total cost of the upgrade will be slightly more than $144,000. The North Dakota Winter Show will have to cover the balance of the cost.
