N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Said Ahmed Muse, 49 of Jamestown, was bound over for trial on Thursday in Southeast District Court. He was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. Muse waived his right to a preliminary hearing and has pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Said Ahmed Muse was charged and accused of attacking Abdirizak Nur, 26 of Jamestown, with a large knife or machete on June 8th. Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger said Abdirizak was treated for cuts to his left hand and a deep cut to his bicep. Both men were acquainted.

An interpreter had to be used to translate District Judge Thomas Marrick’s remarks for Muse. A trial date has not been set. Stutsman County State’s Attorney Fritz Fremgen asked Merrick to reserve four days for the trial instead of the normal two in order for the interpreter to fully do his job. Muse remains in jail on a $100,000 bail.
