CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A fire destroyed a metal structure northeast of Valley City on a farmstead Tuesday around 3:20pm.

Valley City Fire Chief Gary Retterath says a strong west wind may have ignited an old garbage fire outside near the structure. But Retterath says the cause of the fire is still under investigation. He says no injuries were reported.

Lance Peterson was storing some equipment inside the building. He says a camper, motorcycle, snowmobile and some bee keeping equipment and honey barrels were destroyed in the fire.
