N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There’s a resolution on the Senator’s table to make the Bison the National mammal of the United States.
The resolution, entitled “The North Dakota Bison Legacy Act” was created in 2012 by Senator Enzi of Wyoming and Senator Johnson of South Dakota.
Kim Penrod is the Executive Director for the National Buffalo Museum.
“This resolution has been there but hasn’t been brought to the forefront because of what’s been going on before. We have a National bird and the bison is the state symbol for strength and is recognized worldwide as the strong symbol for the American People. So, why not use it?”
The website to show support for the resolution is votebison.org.
