CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A developer has an interest in purchasing the Elks parking lot in Valley City to build a restaurant. On Tuesday the city commission discussed the idea and many expressed concern over the limited space available including commissioner Mary Lee Nielson.
Valley City Businessman Bob Drake urged the city not to allow the restaurant to build on the parking lot.
Valley City Mayor Bob Werkhoven says from the calls he’s received some people believe 3 pizza businesses maybe too much for the community.
Barnes County Valley City Director of Development Jennifer Feist says other options for the city and the developer will be on the table for discussion.
No motion was made by the City Commission following discussion of the proposed development of the city parking lot.
