(NewsDakota.com) It’s been a rough start for the Oakes High School volleyball team for the 2013 season. The Tornadoes are still looking for their first District 1 victory of the season, and are now on a four game losing skid against North Dakota schools after losing two games over the week at home.
Oakes lost to LaMoure in a non-district matchup on Tuesday three games to one by scores of 25-10, 25-12, 22-25, 25-18. On Thursday night, Oakes lost to F-C-T in another District 1 contest in five games by the scores of 25-16, 18-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-11.
Oakes is now 0-3 in District 1, and will not have another home date until Tuesday October 8. Head coach Kathy Warren speaks on the past week and what lies ahead.
The Tornadoes will be a part of the Valley City Optimist Tournament on Saturday before heading back into District 1 play on Tuesday at North Sargent.
