Trapp, 57, West Fargo, ND entered into heaven on Friday, September 13th, 2013 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. He lost his courageous battle with cancer but won his eternal victory with God.

Timothy Jon Trapp was born on November 23, 1955 in Valley City, ND to Myles and Lucille (Boom) Trapp. He was baptized in Marion, ND and attended school there until he moved to Valley City when he was in 8th grade. After graduating from Valley City High School in 1974, Tim graduated from Valley City State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business. He married his high school sweetheart, Dawn Werkhoven, on July 24th, 1976 in Valley City. They made their home there before moving to West Fargo in 1987. Tim worked in sales including printing and insurance his whole life.

Tim loved spending time with family and friends. He was so proud of his kids and grandkids. He especially loved spending time at their place on Pomme de Terre Lake near Elbow Lake, MN. Some lake activities he loved to do included fishing, boating, campfires, and games. He was a member of Flame of Faith United Methodist Church in West Fargo where he served on various committees throughout the years and was also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was a Life Scout and an Ordeal Member in Order of the Arrow. He loved scouting with his son. He loved cheering on his kids and grandkids. He cheered for the Vikings and the Twins and loved to talk sports, politics, and current events. He loved music and could always name the tune and artist. His friends and family appreciated his sense of humor.

Tim is survived by his wife, Dawn, of West Fargo, ND; four children, Tara (Ryan) Salisbury, Harwood, ND; Amy “Jiggy” Trapp, Erin Trapp and Adam Trapp, all of West Fargo, ND; three grandchildren, Gage, Gannon, and Graci Salisbury; parents Myles and Lucille Trapp, Valley City, ND, and three brothers, Dan (Cheryl), Jamestown, ND; David (Patty), Valley City, ND; Mike (Cindy), West Fargo, ND. He is also survived by a mother and father-in-law, Bob and Dottie Werkhoven, Valley City, ND; brother and sister-in-laws Dan (Colleen) Werkhoven, Valley City, ND; and David Werkhoven, Oxford, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sophia.

Visitation: Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 from 5 to 7:30 PM with prayer service at 7:30 PM at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo

Funeral: Tuesday at 10 AM at Epworth United Methodist Church, Valley City with visitation one hour prior.

Interment: Memory Gardens, Valley City.
