CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Despite temperatures reaching  into the high 80’s the Valley City Hi-Liners  cross country team was running Saturday in the “Orr”iginals Cross Country Meet, in Jamestown.

For many of the Hi-Liners it was their first time running in races that had nearly 100 participants.  Despite the intimating numbers, Valley City High School had a strong showing. The boys team was led by Casey Engelhard who finished the race in 28th place in the Varsity Division.

On the girl’s side of things, the Hi-Liners were led by Barbra Zubrod who finished the race with a time of 19:32. The JV girl’s team had the most successful trip to Jamestown, coming in third as a team behind Fargo North and Shanley.

The Hi-Liners are back on the courses on Friday August, 30th when they host their first meet of the season.
