Dorine Haarsager, 77, passed away peacefully August 10th, 2013 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND, surrounded by her loving family. Dorine was born November 10th, 1935 in Fort Ransom, ND, the daughter of Linas and Viola (Eliason) Rufsvold.

     On December 31, 1959, she married Alfred “Affie” Haarsager in Aberdeen, SD. They made their home in rural Litchville, ND where they farmed and raised four children. After retiring, they lived in Valley City and West Fargo, ND. Affie died in May 2000. Dorine continued to live in West Fargo until moving to Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.

     Dorine’s family, especially her grandchildren, was extremely important to her. She will remembered as a sweet, kind, loving, caring, kind-hearted and amazing wife, mother, sister, friend, aunt and grandmother.

     She loved flowers, decorating for each holiday, going through the many scrapped photo albums of her family, playing Bingo, and watching TV Land. She looked forward to the annual Rufsvold Sisters Reunion in Ft. Ransom during S.V.A.C.A. and her yearly week at the lake with her daughters.

     Dorine is survived by her three daughters, Cindy (Scott) Mason of Barnesville, MN, Dawn (Tim Gunderson) Estuesta of Circle Pines, MN, Kim (Donald) Draper of West Fargo, ND; sister, LaVonne “Lolly” Walterson of Miles City, MT; grandchildren, Kyle and Ryan Mason, Greg (Karri), Alan Jr., and Nick Estuesta, Kaitlyn Gunderson, and Jon, Jody, and Jessica Bussert; great grandchildren, Cooper, Parker, Reese, Piper, and Caden Estuesta; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, her extended family, and the caretakers and friends on the second floor of Eventide.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Alan; and brother in-law, Millard Walterson.

     The funeral service for Dorine Haarsager, 77, Moorhead, MN, will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in the Chapel at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead. Visitation will be held there an hour prior to the service.

     She will be laid to rest with a private service at Memory Gardens, near Valley City, ND.
