(NewsDakota.com) Four teams from District 6 remain in the pursuit of punching a ticket to Carrington for the 2013 State Class B Babe Ruth Baseball tournament.

The District 6 tournament started on Saturday at Townsend Field in LaMoure. Saturday’s play saw the number one seed Oakes defeat Ellendale 14-3, LaMoure doubling up Lisbon 8-4, Valley City edging Linton 4-1 and Steele shutting down Napoleon 10-0 in the opening round. In loser out play, Napoleon defeated Linton 8-3 and Ellendale needed nine innings to send Lisbon home with an 11-10 victory.

On Sunday, Oakes moved past LaMoure 9-5 and Valley City trounced Steele 17-0. The loser out games saw LaMoure defeat Napoleon 7-2 and Steele rolling over Ellendale 16-0.

Monday’s play sees Oakes and Valley City meet, followed by Steele and LaMoure. The loser of Oakes/Valley City will face the Steele/LaMoure winner to round out Monday’s play. The Oakes/Valley City winner will play whomever remains on Tuesday for the Championship round.
