N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota State Fair runs now through July 27. More than 300,000 people are expected to attend the State Fair during it’s nine day run in Minot.
On the opening day of the State Fair tickets to all of the country music performances sold out for the second year in a row said Fair Manager Renae Korslien. She said tickets are still available for rock group Creedence Clearwater Revisited, they’ll close out the fair on July 27th.
Korslien said the food is one of the biggest draws for many people during the State Fair. On Friday, July 19 during the “Food Frenzy” competition the Carmel Turtle Funnel Cake at the Thomsens Rootbeer concession stand was voted number one. Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich at the M&S concessions was number two. Bacon Glazed Cinnamon Rolls at Cini Smiths was voted number three.
Bengal Tiger Encounter, Extreme Canine Stunt Show and Sea Life Encounter of America are all free live stage shows available during the State Fair.
Coming up on Monday and Tuesday its the NPRA Championship Bull Riding at 7pm both nights. On Wednesday and Thursday it’s the Ranch Rodeo Championships 7pm both evenings.

The North Dakota State Fair is helping fight hunger by asking patrons to bring a non-perishable food item on Monday, July 22 at the admission gates. Great Plains Food Bank will help distribute the items to local food pantries through North Dakota.
