NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The United States Department of Agriculture has announced $10.26 million in investment into the city of New Rockford.

According to Senators John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp as well as Congressman Kevin Cramer, New Rockford will receive an investment of $4.734 million loan and a $4.526 million grant for the city’s water main replacement and more.

“New Rockford’s current infrastructure is aging and needs replacement and updating,” the USDA reports. “This project will address the infrastructure needs of the residents of New Rockford and will provide them with a sustainable water system for years to come.”

Other improvement areas include water tower painting, water treatment plant improvements, and stormwater improvements for the city. The funding comes as part of $25 milion that will be used in other communities in North Dakota.
