CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Former Grand Forks Central standout Britni Hart has committed to play basketball at Valley City State University.
VCSU assistant coach Lavesa Glover said Hart will join the Viking women in the fall of 2013. The 5-foot-10 Hart brings a versatile skill set to Valley City State, having played guard, forward and post positions during her high school and AAU career. She averaged about 9.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game during her senior season at Grand Forks Central. “Britni has had a stellar career at Grand Forks Central High School, and we are fortunate that she decided to continue her basketball career here at VCSU,” said Glover.
Hart will join a VCSU team that has advanced to the NAIA National Tournament each of the past three seasons and set a school record with 24 wins last year. Hart was named a Team Captain last year at Central, and played three years on varsity under the direction of head coach Brent Hintz. She also played AAU ball with the Bemidji Gym Rats, coached by Tim Mayclin. Hart has not yet decided on a college major at VCSU.
