(NewsDakota.com) In a non-section baseball contest, section seven Washburn sweeps Carrington 8-1 and 9-1. Carrington drops to 5-4 overall, and Washburn improves to 3-0.
In the first game, Evan Eberle of Post 12 allowed only one hit through four innings, had five strikeouts and helped Washburn get the victory. Post 25 scored their first and only run in the top of the fifth when Marcus Hewitt reached on a single to center, then Taylor Skytland knocked him in later on in the inning. Patrick Freeman was 2-for-3 at the plate with two singles as well. Peter Henson took the loss for Post 25, he gave up five walks and had two strikeouts, Henson is 0-2 on the year.
Next up for Carrington Post 25 will be on Monday, June 17th in Jamestown at 5:30p (5:15pm pregame on newsdakota.com KDAK) against the Jamestown Blues.
