(NewsDakota.com) The LaMoure-Litchville/Marion baseball team capitalized off of mistakes on Saturday in the Region 1 Tournament. On Wednesday the Loboes made their own mistakes and it lead to their season coming to a crashing end with a 13-3 loss to Enderlin/Maple Valley in six innings.
The Loboes took an early 3-0 lead with an RBI single by Anthony Olson scoring Kenny Hodem in the first inning. LLM scored another two in the third lead in part by a Brady Theilges triple. However, the Loboes committed three errors in the bottom part of the inning allowing the hometown Falcons to claw back within a single run, and in the fourth, EMV scored seven runs on eight hits, including a two-run by Matt Luther. The Falcons added another four runs in the sixth to run-rule the Loboes and send then home for the season.
Theilges took the loss, striking out only four batters. Colton Huus earned the win for EMV allowing eight hits while striking out six.
The Falcons later lost to Northern Cass 7-1 making the Championship Round between the Jaguars and Central Cass. The Jaguars, who lost to the Squirrels last Saturday, must win twice on Thursday in order to advance to State in Mandan next week.
