CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Kay Vinje will be the new Valley City Barnes county area chamber of commerce Executive Vice President.

North Dakota Winter Show manager Dawn Riley served as Chamber Executive Vice President for one year. Riley will continue to be the manager of the North Dakota Winter Show.

Valley City Barnes County Director of Economic Development Jennifer Feist talked about the new $20 million expansion of John Deere Seeding Group and she also said work will start next year on the first phase of new $12 million National Guard Facility.

And Feist added that Valley City will get a movie theater back but did not release any details of the plan.

Feist said jobs generated through the assistance of the Valley Development Corporation was at 736 compared to 720 last year.

John Deere Seeding Group was the recipient of the Business of the Year Award due in part to their business expansion plans.

And Becky Heise received the Hi Line Award for her years of dedicated community service.
