(NewsDakota.com) The LaMoure-Litchville/Marion baseball team won both games in their triangular on Monday in two completely different ways.
The Loboes defeated Hankinson-Fairmount 13-12, and the Northern Cass Jaguars 8-7 in 10 innings to end the regular season with a 3-4 mark in Region I. In the first game, LLM was down 10-2 going to the bottom of the fourth inning, when the Loboes scored three runs, and another four in each of the fifth and seventh innings for the come-from-behind victory. Parker Stemen earned the win, and Jared Meiklejohn had the game winning hit.
In game two, Brady Thielges hit a two run home run in the third, and a solo shot in the 10th in LLM’s victory. However, the hero in game two was freshman left fielder Marcus Good who with his first hit of the year in regional play scored Drew Thielges with two out in the 10th to give the Loboes the win. Brady Thielges earned the win, while Ethan Becker was the losing pitcher for the Jaguars.
The Loboes are the #5 seed in the upcoming Region I baseball tournament, and will go to Casselton on Friday May 17 and face Enderin/Maple Valley in Round 1. The Loboes and Falcons played back on April 30 in their only meeting of the year, with the Falcons winning 6-5 in 11 innings. The winner plays #1 Central Cass 20 minutes afterwards.
