CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City State men’s basketball team has officially announced the signing of Paxton Lloyd, a 5-foot-9 guard from Fargo South.

Lloyd has signed a letter of intent to join the Vikings for the 2013-14 season according to a release from VCSU head coach Jeff Kaminsky.

Lloyd average 15 points, six assists and two steals per game his senior season at Fargo South. He was named to the 2013 All EDC Team and was selected to play in the 2013 Lions All-Star Game.

“We are excited to have Paxton join our program,” said Kaminsky. “His skill level, athleticism, and explosiveness at the point guard position will translate well to the next level. Paxton’s character and work ethic will make him a great addition to Viking Basketball on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. ”

VCSU advanced to the NAIA National Tournament last season, but graduated five seniors from that team. Lloyd joins a large freshman recruiting class that is expected to add depth to the five returning players from last year.
