CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A controversy over Valley City’s approval to purchase an Automatic Metering Infrastructure system for .2 million has surfaced.
Valley City resident Bob Drake believes the city made their decision to quickly without investigating the facts about the cost of the system and how it will affect city residential bills once it’s installed.
City Administrator David Schelkoph believes Drake’s comments were not entirely fair or factual about the proposed metering system.
Mayor Bob Werkhoven agreed with Bob Drake that the city needs to find out what the actual cost will be before moving forward to purchase and install the system.
A public input meeting about the Automatic Metering Infrastructure system will be held Thursday, May 9 inside the city hall commission chambers at 7pm.
