N.D. (AP) – Gov. Jack Dalrymple has signed legislation that provides 5 million for flood control and water projects across North Dakota. He says the legislation provides record funding to the state Water Commission’s budget.

The biggest single expenditure in the bill is $100 million for Fargo-area flood protection projects. A flood-control project in Minot is getting $61 million.

Another $31 million is set aside to help the cities of Valley City, Fort Ransom and Lisbon along the Sheyenne River and Devils Lake flood-control projects too.

The Southwest Pipeline Project will get $79 million to build transmission lines in Dunn and Oliver counties.  The Western Area Water Supply is slated to receive $40 million for a water treatment plant expansion in Williston. The so-called WAWS project also is receiving $79 million to expand water supplies in western North Dakota.
