N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The 2013 opener at Jamestown Speedway has been moved back 2 weeks from May 4th to May 18th.

Track manager, Joanne Dieterle said, “We only first got on the grounds last weekend due to snow and muddy conditions. We need several days of warm temps and overnight lows need to remain above freezing before we can turn the water on and get done what we need to do to prepare for the 2013 season” She added, “we hope the weather cooperates and we have a great opener on the 18th.”

A “Test and Tune” session is tentatively scheduled for May 11th from 4 to 8 PM. The car show has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

The May 18th opening race will also be the 2013 High School Grads night. All area 2013 graduates will be admitted free with a photo ID and a copy of their graduation announcement.
