CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Hi-Liner fastpitch softball team took a couple of big losses this weekend against the No. 1 team in the State.

West Fargo defeated the Hi-Liners 15-0 and 16-0, holding Valley City to just four hits total in the two games.

West Fargo is the defending state champions and ranked No. 1 in the preseason softball poll. The Hi-Liners are now 2-2 to start the season after sweeping Bismarck and getting swept by West Fargo.

Valley City is back in action again Tuesday night when they host Fargo Shanley for and EDC match-up. The game is worth two points in the EDC standings. Shanley has not yet played a game this season. Varsity starts at 4:30 p.m. with junior varsity to follow.
