N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Valley City Senator Larry Robinson is confident that a bill the works to provide permanent flood protection for the cities of Lisbon, Ft. Ransom and Valley City will pass in the 2013 legislative session.

But Robinson told newsdakota.com that funding requests for Valley City State University are still up in the air.

Robinson said legislators will work on Saturday and may wrap up the session by May 1.

In other news, the flood threat for Valley City may be downgraded as conditions look favorable for cities along the Sheyenne River. Right now, Valley City officials are cautiously optimistic but they’ll hold a meeting Friday at 10am to discuss what action to take as warmer temperatures this weekend will cause river levels to rise.
