CITY (NewsDakota.com) – The Hi-Liner girls tennis team was finally able to get its season started on Tuesday, playing two matches indoors in Grand Forks.
The Hi-Liners dropped both matches, falling 6-0 to Red River and 6-3 to Grand Forks Central. Head coach Matt Nielson says the five hours on the court Tuesday was about an hour more than the team has had on courts all spring due to weather conditions.
In the Central match, Valley City got wins from Maia Wendel and Abby Ingstad in singles, and also got a doubles victory from the team of Cassidy Fulton and Rachel Schueneman.
Up next: Valley City is scheduled to be at home on Monday, April 22, although its looking unlikely that the weather will cooperate.
