(NewsDakota.com) The LaMoure-Litchville/Marion and Milnor High School boys basketball team are making the trip up to Minot on Wednesday to represent their regions in the State Class B Boys Basketball Tournament which starts on Thursday.

For the Region III winners from LaMoure, they are looking to increase their success from the last time they appeared at the tournament, which was in 2008 when they finished third.  Head Coach Darrin Thelegis says he knew he had a talented bunch of young men going into this season.

As for the Region I Champion Milnor Bison, it’s been nine years since their last state appearance, when they finished second losing to Dickinson Trinity. Milnor was also second in 1966. The Bison’s head coach Benjamin Nelson wasn’t the coach last time Milnor went to state, but he says he knows how important making it back to the tournament is to the community.

The Loboes and Bison will each play in the afternoon session on Thursday; with the Loboes battling Dickinson Trinity at 1 p.m., to be followed by the Bison taking on Shilo Christian. The two night games will feature Cavalier and Trenton and Four Winds-Minnewaukan against Rugby.

All four games can be heard on KDDR 1220 AM/95.9 FM, TED FM 98.3, KDAK 1600 AM and NewsDakota.com with the daypart coverage starting at 12:45 p.m. Thursday.
