FORKS and BISMARCK, N.D. (AP & NewsDakota.com) – The record-setting late-winter storm has begun moving out of the Dakotas and the No Travel Alert statewide has been lifted.

The storm that hit late Sunday and Monday brought freezing rain to parts of the two states and heavy snow to areas of North Dakota. As much as a foot was reported in several cities in the north.

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks says GF on Monday received a record amount of snow for the date, with 7 inches. Minot not only got a foot of snow but also set a rainfall record for the date, along with Williston. The Oil Patch city also got half a foot of snow.

Meanwhile Jamestown and Valley City indicating in the 4 to 6 inches of snowfall range in the past 48 hours according to the National Weather Service in Bismarck.

Some limited travel alerts remaining in effect, especially in the north and east, including Grand Forks, Valley City and Fargo in addition to the surrounding areas.
