JAMESTOWN, N.D. (JRMC) – Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) recently announced Cindy Kutz as its most recent Legend Award recipient.
The Legend Award is the most prestigious distinction for a JRMC employee. It recognizes employees who exceed expectations and are THE difference in the lives of those they serve.
Kutz, a surgical technologist at JRMC since 1996, was nominated for the award by fellow surgical technologist Wendi Alvarado.
“Cindy is truly a team leader in our department,” Alvarado wrote in her nomination. “She gives all of herself to her team every day.”
As part of her role, Kutz supports surgeries by preparing operating rooms, maintaining the sterility of instruments to prevent infection and assisting the surgeon by passing them instruments as needed. She also helps manage the surgical area with tools such as suction devices and ensures proper patient positioning on the operating table.
Beyond her primary responsibilities, Kutz collaborates closely with surgeons and JRMC’s materials department to ensure they have the necessary supplies, even researching alternatives during shortages. She is recognized for going out of her way to source new products that surgeons have expressed interest in incorporating into their procedures. Her team regards her as an expert in the supply chain and relies on her as their go-to resource for all supply-related inquiries.
“Cindy is dedicated to her team and a joy to be around every day,” Alvarado said. “This can be a taxing job, but I know she is always a phone call away if I am struggling or have questions.”
Kutz’s unwavering reliability highlights her commitment to serving the community. By consistently going above and beyond, she fosters a supportive and uplifting atmosphere for her colleagues, further contributing to JRMC’s reputation as a Best Place to Work.
