BISMARCK – Jamestown Jimmies junior infielder Maddie Spaeth and freshman pitcher Maddie Hairgrove swept the NSAA weekly softball awards for the week ending March 9.  Spaeth was named as the conference’s Player of the Week and Hairgrove was dubbed as the Pitcher of the Week.

Spaeth hit safely in 10 of 11 games for the Jimmies last week at the Tucson Invitational Games, hitting .447 (17-for-38) with seven doubles, a triple, 15 RBI, 14 runs scored and two stolen bases.  In 25 games this season, Spaeth is hitting a career-best .429 with 10 doubles, a triple, 28 RBI and seven steals.

Hairgrove earned five wins last week.  Her ERA was 1.58 in 17 and two-thirds innings and she struck out 12.  Overall, Hairgrove is 6-1 in 15 appearances (two starts) with a 2.44 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 37 and a third innings.
