WEST FARGO, N.D. (TITAN) – Titan Machinery, in partnership with community and technical colleges in South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Minnesota, Idaho, and North Dakota, looks forward to hosting 9th through 12th grade students throughout this year’s TitanMachinery Student Camps. This year’s camps incorporate enhanced opportunities for students to network with and learn from industry professionals, collaborate and connect with other
campers in a variety of project-based learning activities, and enjoy a unique summer experience exploring what it’s like to work in the heavy equipment industry – either as a diesel mechanic/service technician or an equipment precision technology specialist.

In 2023, Titan Machinery launched its first-ever Student Camps, allowing students of all backgrounds, genders, and socioeconomic statuses to experience hands-on learning in a safe, fun, and engaging environment. The goals of these camps were: To help rewrite the current and often negative narrative around careers in the skilled trade industry and combat its misconceptions, which have been proven to negatively impact kids and parents interested in heavy equipment and diesel mechanics. To be an innovative leader in solving our nation’s current skilled trade shortage,
closing the skilled trade gap, and promoting more opportunities for females to feel empowered in a male-dominated industry. To create a wider breadth of “people they know” for students to turn to for information and guidance about post-high school plans. To instill in every camper attending just a bit more confidence in themselves and their interests in the field than what they had when they began.

Expanding Titan Machinery Student Camps As the industry’s needs evolve, so must initiatives. In 2023, Titan Machinery’s summer camp program featured four Titan Machinery Diesel Camps, following that 2024 hosted eight Diesel and Precision camps, each providing students the opportunity to step into the work boots of a Service Technician/Diesel Mechanic.

This year, Titan Machinery has increased outreach through the addition of new college partnerships to host more camps. It has also expanded its Precision Camp to two schools! In this camp, the curriculum shifts the focus to provide students with the opportunity to step into the work boots of a Precision Technology Specialist.

“Precision Technology is a specialty becoming increasingly in demand as the technology within equipment advances, so we are excited to offer a camp dedicated to just that, in addition to our existing Diesel Camps.”

This year’s student camps will be taking place at the following community and technical colleges, as well as within their surrounding Titan Machinery dealerships:
 Diesel Camp: Central Community College | Hastings, Nebraska (June 2-3)
 Diesel Camp: Dickinson State University | Dickinson, North Dakota (June 2-4)

Regardless of the camp students attend, all Titan Machinery summer campers can continue to look forward to the following:
 The chance to engage with and learn from industry professionals.
 Meeting and connecting with like-minded peers their age.
 Creative, hands-on, project-based learning activities that give them a taste of working in the industry.
 Insights on the various positions that work together at a dealership team.
 Collaboration with each other and the experts on hand throughout the entire camp experience.
 A fun and unique summer opportunity!

The differences will lie in the subject of activities and lessons students are working through. Diesel vs Precision: Key Differences Diesel Camp participants will explore the ins and outs of working on equipment alongside certified Diesel Technology instructors, industry experts, and current student technicians. They will collaborate on various mechanical projects and solve real-world problems that regularly come across Titan Machinery Service Desks—just as a Service Technician would.

Precision Camp participants will explore the ins and outs of Precision Technology alongside Precision Technology instructors and top industry experts. They will learn about the technical and digital systems found in heavy equipment and collaborate to problem-solve through general maintenance processes. No matter the camp avenue, students are guaranteed the chance to learn and explore in a setting far from their typical classroom.
