TUCSON, AZ – Great play continued for University of Jamestown Softball as their 2025 trip to Arizona ended.

The Jimmies won twice more Sunday in their last two outings at the Tucson Invitational Games, defeating William Penn 8-7 and Park University Gilbert 6-4 at the Kino Sports Complex.  Jamestown has now won 11 times in their last 12 games.

Maddie Spaeth hit a go-ahead RBI triple in a three-run fifth inning for Jamestown (15-9). Kayla Quintanilla singled in the second run of the frame and stole home for the third.

Trinity Gregg’s RBI bunt single in the sixth inning gave the Jimmies an 8-4 lead. That play proved to be vital, as Laila Smith hit a three-run homer for the Statesmen in the top of the seventh.

Maddie Hairgrove (6-1) won on the circle in relief, striking out four in four and two-thirds innings.

Quintanilla and Gregg each drove in two runs as the Jimmies (16-9) scored two runs in each of the first three innings.

Quintanilla drove in both runs in the first with a single. Gregg drove in a run with a double and Spaeth singled in a run in the second. Kylie Yanzuk and Gregg hit RBI singles in the third.

Again, a Jimmie reliever won. Laura Ransome (2-0) pitched four scoreless innings and struck out three.

Jamestown will open NSAA play at home with doubleheaders against Mayville State on March 29 & 30.
