-Jamestown, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Class B Girls State Basketball Tournament wrapped up in Jamestown on Saturday March 8th with the placing games and the Championship game.

7th Place Game: #7 Grant County-Mott/Regent 52-69 #5 LaMoure-LM

5th Place Game: #6 LAM 57-56 #8 Linton-HMB

3rd Place Game: #3 Central McLean 46-50 #1 Lewis and Clark-Berthold

The Bombers got 3rd in their first ever State Tourney appearance as they win a close won against the Cougars 50-46. The game started out slow as no one was able to get much scoring going in the 1st quarter as it would end with a 7-6 Bombers lead. The Bombers would be able to extend that lead in the 2nd getting it to 19-16 at the half. The 3rd quarter would see the Bombers extend that lead to 7 early on. The Cougars would not go into the goodnight however and they would battle back to tie it then take a lead from a buzzer beater 3-ball from Morgan Snyder to give them a 40-38 lead. The 4th quarter would be back and forth the entire way with neither team able to get and hold a lead till the end. The Bombers would get a 2 point lead with under a minute left and they’d get the ball back. Addison Neshem would put the game away with 2 clutch free throws with under 10 seconds left to clinch the 50-46 win.

The L&C-Berthold Bombers end their season with a 3rd place finish and a 26-2 record. The Central McLean Cougars season ends with a 4th place finish and a 25-3 record.

Championship: #2 Kenmare-Bowbells 56-69 #4 Benson County

The Wildcats, for the 1st time as a Co-op and the first for Maddock since 1987, are the 2025 State Champions beating the Honkers 69-56. The game started well for the Honkers as they took an early lead of 16-8. That lead would slowly dissipate as at the end of the 1st it’d be 16-11. The Wildcats would continue to push in the 2nd cutting the lead down to 28-25 at the half. The Honkers would get into foul trouble in the second half giving up 5 trips to the line in the quarter allowing the Wildcats to take a 42-40 lead into the 4th quarter. The Honkers would 8 more trips to the line allowing the Wildcats to continue to pull away and eventually win the Title 69-56.

The Benson County Wildcats are your Class B Champions ending with a 26-2 record. Kenmare-Bowbells ends in 2nd with a 25-4 record.
