JAMESTOWN (NewsDakota)- The Medina/Pingree-Buchanan Thunder won the 2025 Class B District 2 Tournament on Tuesday at the Jamestown Civic Center.

REGION 1 QUALIFIER:  (2) Linton-HMB 60 (8) Strasburg/Zeeland 13

Linton HMB started with big time pressure and jumped out to a big early lead. That lead would never be threatened as the #2 seed bounced back from Monday’s loss in a big way. All Lions players would see action throughout the game.

Levi Keeney led the Lions with 13 points.

Lawson Nieuwsma led the Clippers with 5 points and 3 rebounds.

REGION 1 QUALIFIER: (1) Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier 49 (7) Kidder County 40

Kidder County started fast and led by as many as 6. EKM would settle in and lead at the half 24-19. the Rebels built the lead to 10,  and finished with a 49-40 win.

EKM was led by Joe Kramlich’s 11 points and 7 rebounds in a balanced EKM attack.

Bryce Larson’s 11 points and 9 rebounds and 3 assists led the Wolves.

DISTRICT 2 CHAMPIONSHIP: (4) Medina/Pingree-Buchanan 44 (3) LaMoure-LM 40

Behind a monstrous double-double by Gage Hoffman (16 points and 15 rebounds), the Thunder won the district title over the Loboes.  Terek Kinzell added 12 points for Medina/Pingree-Buchanan, who never trailed after taking a 4-3 lead.

LaMoure-LM were led by 11 points from Mason Warcken.

REGION 1 TOURNAMENT (MONDAY ON THUNDER 98.3):

3pm- Medina/Pingree-Buchanan vs Maple River

4:30pm- Hankinson vs Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier

6pm- Oakes vs Linton-HMB

7:30pm- LaMoure-LM vs Barnes County North
