The Oakes Tornadoes did what they had to do to collect the victory against the Richland Colts and get back to a District semifinal for the first time since 2021. The game started slow for Oakes as Richland took an early lead but a 12-3 run would turn that around and Oakes would have a 16-11 lead after 1. Richland wouldn’t give up however and brought it to within 2 at the half with a 24-22 Oakes lead. Oakes would begin to pull away in the 3rd with Eddie Garza getting hot taking a 39-33 lead. They’d then get Beau Thorpe hot and take home the 59-44 victory in the 4th.

Game 2: #4 Maple River 46-32 #5 Wyndmere-Lidgerwood

The Raiders rode a strong 2nd half to a quarterfinal victory over the Warbirds. The game started out rather even and slow for both teams as neither team was able to get much going in the 1st half. The Raiders would still lead 10-8 after 1 and 20-14 at the half. They’d really pull away starting in the 3rd as they were able to get to 31-22. They’d ride the momentum into the 4th and use freethrow shooting to clinch the 46-32 win.

Next up for Maple River is Oakes in the Semifinals in game #3 on Monday. W/L will play in the first game of the night on Monday in a loser out match against Richland.
