
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – For the second straight day, University of Jamestown Baseball split a twinbill with 20th-ranked Concordia (NE) on Monday at Piedmont High School. A nine-run sixth inning for the Bulldogs propelled them to an 11-2 win in the opener. The Jimmies had the big offense in the second game, scoring in each of the first five innings and rapping out 17 hits in a 16-3 win.
Game 1: (20)Concordia 11, Jamestown 2 (7)
Five hits, two hit batters, an error and a walk led to the decisive inning for Concordia (5-1). Michael Welch, who had earlier homered, hit a two-run single and Ty Nekoliczak had a two-run double.
Chase Burke had given Jamestown (7-4) the lead with a two-run single in the second inning.
Ethan Petty (0-1) took the loss in relief. Starter Ryan Radkey lasted four innings, surrendering two runs and four hits with four strikeouts and five walks.

A six-run first inning put UJ (8-4) in command. Varen Sabino hit a tying RBI double, then Triston Madison drove in a run with a single for a 2-1 Jimmie lead. Ben Patton singled in two, a fifth run scored with a wild pitch and Ryan Okamoto doubled in the last run.
Madison drove in a run in the second for Jamestown with a single. Alex Alva singled in two runs in the third.
Five more scored in the fourth when Burke was hit by a pitch, a run scored on a passed ball, Ryan Muizelaar singled in two and Alva doubled in another.
Isaiah Roebuck and Burke doubled in runs in the fifth. Concordia (5-2) took two runs back in the sixth, but the Jimmies won by run rule.
Isaac Hanson (1-0) pitched six strong innings, with three runs (two earned) and five hits allowed, striking out four.
Next for the Jimmies are the Tucson Invitational Games, starting with a doubleheader Saturday against Benedictine University Mesa.
