(NAFB.com) – A lot is happening these days at the Environmental Protection Agency, including Endangered Species Act changes that will impact farmers across the country. Trump’s nominee Lee Zeldin is the new EPA administrator, but it’s unclear yet how funding cuts will affect the agency. Look for plenty of movement at the agency. Including a physical move of EPA’s headquarters out of Washington, D.C. and cutting of existing regulations when new ones are added. Expect to see budget cuts. The number of employees at EPA’s pesticide policy office has declined dramatically, meaning fewer folks are available to approve pesticides and re-register existing ones. The result? A likely longer wait time for pesticide registration.
