Wahpeton 57 – Oak Grove 48
Scout Woods extended the Huskies’ season to at least Thursday with a 22-point performance, leading Wahpeton to a victory over the Grovers. Oak Grove took an early lead, but a dominant second quarter by the Huskies gave them a 30-24 advantage at halftime. From there, Wahpeton leaned on its defense, holding Oak Grove’s Sophia Geiger to just five points. The Huskies closed out the game strong, outscoring Oak Grove 15-9 in the final frame to secure the quarterfinal win. They will now move on to face the top-seeded Valley City Hi-Liners.
Kindred 59 – Lisbon 16
Despite the lopsided score, offense did not come easily for the Vikings, who struggled to find a rhythm in their half-court sets. Fortunately, Kindred’s defense, combined with the outside shooting of Siera Nipstad, helped bury the overwhelmed Broncos early. The Vikings took a commanding 41-8 lead into halftime. Lisbon’s lone double-digit scorer was Brynn Wilste, but the dominant physical presence of both Nipstad and Kennedy Bakko proved too much to overcome. Kindred cruised into the semifinals with a convincing win.
Northern Cass 54 – Central Cass 51
Much like Scout Woods kept Wahpeton’s season alive, Haidyn Crockett’s dominance carried Northern Cass, keeping her senior season—and the Jaguars’ hopes—alive until at least Thursday. Crockett scored 38 of her team’s 54 points, including 12 in the final quarter, nearly single-handedly leading her squad to victory. Central Cass received strong performances from Olivia Siverson and Kenley Haug, but the Jaguars sealed the win with clutch free throws from Crockett and Tess Jalbert. Northern Cass will now face Kindred in the semifinals.
