
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Valley City man is facing several charges following an incident on Sunday, February 15th in Valley City.
Police Chief Nick Horner said officers responded to a call for service at the Econolodge in Valley City of an intoxicated man around 6:20pm.
Horner said officers located Mark David Nelson who was heavily intoxicated. Nelson was argumentative with staff and officers but agreed to leave the establishment.
Later officers located Nelson, lying in the roadway of 4th Ave. Southwest, he was assisted to his feet and transported to Mercy Hospital due to his level of intoxication. While at Mercy Hospital Nelson began arguing with officers and refused to go inside. He began to square up with officers to incite a confrontation. Nelson was detained due to his actions and behavior. While being detained Nelson resisted arrest and kicked one of the officers. He was arrested and is faces charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault on a police officer.
