VALLEY CITY, N.D. (LWV) – In an effort to make important legislative information widely available, two local civic groups are hosting monthly informational forums in Valley City. The second forum in this series will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 am on Saturday, Feb. 22 in the Skoal Room in the Valley City State University Student Center, (use the Center’s West door).
Local League of Women Voters (LWV) volunteers and the Valley City Barnes County Development Corporation (VCBCDC) are jointly hosting monthly forums during the current Legislative Assembly.
LWV volunteer Vicki Voldal Rosenau said District 24 Sen. Mike Wobbema, Rep. Dwight Kiefert and Rep. Daniel Johnston accepted the invitation to attend two of the four forums, but declined the Feb. 22 event. Separately, under their own sponsorship, they have scheduled forums at the Litchville Community Center at 9:00 am on Saturday, Feb. 15; and at the Wimbledon Legion Hall at 11:30 am on Saturday, Feb. 15; and at the Lisbon, North Dakota Auditor’s Office at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 8.
A list of upcoming legislative committee hearings will be available at the Saturday, Feb. 22 forum in Valley City. District 24 citizens are encouraged to bring current information about bills on topics that are important to them. If you know that you would like to have a certain bill discussed, please call or text LWV volunteer Vicki Voldal Rosenau at (701-490-4883) so that time can be allotted accordingly. Coffee and cookies will be provided.
The third forum hosted by the League of Women Voters (LWV) and Valley City Barnes County Development Corporation (VCBCDC) will be held on Saturday, March 22 in the Hi-Liner Activity Center (HAC) at Valley City High School and the fourth will be held Saturday, April 12 in the VCSU Skoal Room from 9:30am to 11am.
