JAMESTOWN – A coach who was a part of past University of Jamestown Football success is back.

On Wednesday, Jimmies’ Head Coach Brian Mistro announced the hiring of Tom Dosch as Associate Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator.  Dosch was the Jimmies’ Head Coach from 2004-2007.

Dosch’s first head coaching position was with Jamestown, where he led the Jimmies to a 25-17 record in those four seasons and two NAIA playoff appearances.  In 2007 under Dosch, on a team that featured Mistro as a starting safety, Jamestown won the Dakota Athletic Conference championship and was ranked as high as sixth nationally.

Dosch is a former head coach at Northern State.  He was named as the NSIC Coach of the Year in 2014 as the Wolves were 8-3, their best record since 2005.  In 2015, NSU won a share of the NSIC North Division title.

He has had two different stints as an assistant at the University of North Dakota.  From 1995 to 2003, Dosch was UND’s defensive line and outside linebackers coach.  In that time, UND won five conference titles and the 2001 NCAA Division II National Championship.  Dosch was again at UND the past two seasons as outside linebackers coach.

Dosch also has been a linebackers coach and special teams coordinator at Southern Illinois.

He was a four-year letter-winner and two-year starter at Dickinson State, where he also played basketball.
