CASS COUNTY, N.D. (CCSO) – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has opened an internal investigation after learning that one of their employees was arrested during the early morning hours (02-09-25) for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Sheriff Jesse Jahner was notified that Cass County Jail Corrections Deputy Oliver Quiah was taken into custody by the North Dakota Highway Patrol around 2:30 a.m. this morning. Quiah began his employment with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office in November of 2022 and is assigned to the Cass County Jail as a Non-Licensed Corrections Deputy. Quiah will be placed on paid administrative leave while the internal investigation starts.
Sheriff Jahner has issued the following statement:
“It will always remain the goal of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office to be transparent with the public and hold its employees to a high level of professionalism and accountability. We want to thank the North Dakota Highway Patrol for keeping our community safe and for investigating the incident. The Cass County Sheriff’s will initiate an internal investigation in accordance with the North Dakota Highway Patrol’s investigation to determine internal policy violations.”
The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues their investigation at this time, so no further information will be released from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
