VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) The snow that came Friday produced some avenues for recreation in Valley City Sunday.
Valley City Parks and Rec crews worked quickly to clear the outdoor skating area of snow, allowing for the sunny day to attract skaters to the park on the city’s north end.
Several sledding trails were visible in the fresh powder on the edge of the skating area, indicating those looking for outdoor recreation were out and active.
For the sledster that is more daring, a downhill snow trail heading down the hills below the Meadow Hills addition offered additional avenues for those that challenge the cold.
Temperatures are expected to drop to daytime highs of the single digits above, or below, zero next week, due to a polar vortex approaching the Midwest.
