VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Public Schools is excited to announce Chad Smith as the next Head Football Coach for the Valley City Hi-Liners.
Originally from Montana, Smith has over 14 years of coaching experience, including time at Valley City State University (VCSU), as the Hi-Liners’ Offensive Coordinator, and most recently, as a coach at North Dakota State University. His deep ties to Valley City, where he lives, owns a business, and is engaged to be married, make him a strong fit to lead the program.
“Valley City is home for me,” said Smith. “This community has given me so much, and I’m honored for the opportunity to give back by leading the Hi-Liners. Our program will be built on three core values: Passion, Wisdom, and Loyalty. With these guiding principles, we will compete at a high level and instill lifelong lessons in our student-athletes.”
Activities Director Rob Hunt expressed confidence in Smith’s leadership. “Chad’s experience, passion, and commitment to Valley City make him the right person to lead our football program. We’re excited for the future of Hi-Liner football under his guidance.”
Smith will officially take over as head coach as preparations begin for the 2025 football season.
