Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – For the first time in years the Oakes Tornadoes boys basketball team will have a number attached to their name for at least a week.

Yesterday with the release of the media polls the Tornados could see that they were the #10 team according to the NDAPSSA. This comes after just missing out on the polls last week despite beating the #4 team in the State in Hankinson on January 24th.

They wouldn’t let the snub discourage them as they’d sweep the week again as they beat Richland last Tuesday and Wyndmere-Lidgerwood on Friday. They are now currently on a 6 game winning streak and have only lost 1 game this calendar year and are 10-1 since losing their first 2 games and haven’t lost to a class B team since the first game of the season.

They are also sitting alone at the top of District 1 with only 3 games left inside of the District. They will next play against Enderlin on Friday February 7th in Enderlin. You can hear all of the action on KDDR The Tornado with the pregame show starting at 6:45 PM and tip off scheduled for 7:00 pm.

Below are the full Class B Boys Basketball Polls
