PARKVILLE, MO – In their second day at the Pirate Invitational, University of Jamestown Men’s Volleyball split matches on Friday at the Breckon Sports Center.  Jamestown fell in five sets to St. Thomas (FL) before defeating host school Park University in four sets.

St. Thomas (FL) def. Jamestown, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-12
St. Thomas hit consistently through the match, hitting .351 to Jamestown’s .295. Kaelen Ingram had 24 kills for the Bobcats and Gabriel Negrao hit 19 with three aces.

Gaven Hackley had 18 kills, two aces and four digs for the Jimmies (1-4). Michal Niemiec had 17 kills, two aces, five digs and a solo block. Tysen Myers had 13 kills and hit .571. Gabriel Ocasio notched 56 set assists.

Hackley again had 18 kills as Jamestown (2-4) stopped its three-match losing streak. He also had eight digs, a solo block and five block assists. Tomasz Swiderski had 17 kills, three solo blocks and two digs. Ocasio had 46 assists and six digs.

On Saturday, Jamestown will conclude their play at the Pirate Invitational, meeting Morningside and Kansas Wesleyan.
