N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Stephanie Goetz’s brother Cameron took his life at the age of 19 after a long battle with depression in 2002.
In February, the Valley News Live news anchor created a foundation in her brother’s memory which will be a venue to help other teens or students suffering from depression contemplating suicide.
Through this foundation, she said they hope to provide a Triage therapist in schools to identify youth struggling with mental illness.
Goetz said the foundation will work to help schools in Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo but she said they hope to expand those services to schools in Valley City, Jamestown and Grand Forks.
Goetz said they are recruiting people to run as part of “Cam’s Crew” during the Fargo Marathon to help raise money for the Stephanie Goetz Foundation.
