JAMESTOWN – For one period, Jamestown Blue Jay Girls Hockey was tight with the first-place team. But then, the Spruins struck big.
Kenleigh Fischer scored four goals, including twice in a four-goal second period, and Fargo North/South eased past Jamestown 7-2 on Thursday at Wilson Arena.
Freshman Leah Hagan scored her first goal and the game’s first goal only 1:15 into the first period for Jamestown (4-13-0-0, 3-13-0-0 League). But at 5:46, Fischer tied the game for Fargo North/South (12-1-1-2, 11-1-1-2). Paige Rohrich put the Spruins ahead at 8:49 and Jamestown was down just 2-1 after one period.
Fargo North/South then put the game out of reach with a four-goal second period, with goals by Olivia Kalbus, two more by Fischer and one by Emma Ness.
Fischer scored her fourth at 9:59 of the third period. Ellie Krueger scored her 12th with 4:41 left.
Jamestown will try to stop its three game losing streak Tuesday against Fargo Davies at Wilson Arena at 7:00 PM.
